From the Pile of UFOs

This is the Rosy Fingered Dawn shawl, which has been awaiting blocking for several months now. I finally figured out a way to accomplish a good blocking - the blue thing is actually 1/4 of a playmat that I got at www.walmart.com. Now all I need is a nice, big block of time to get it all laid out. Stay tuned!

There is a great blocking tool called "Perfect Press" by June Taylor which I bought at JoAnn Fabrics a few years ago. Its a thick padded rectangle with a 20 X 60 inch grid printed on it. The little boxes are in half inch increments. It has elastic straps attatched; I think meant to attatch to an Ironing board. (what's that?!?)I don't recall how much I paid for it but I saw something similar in WalMart for $20 bucks.Anyway, you just pin the item you're blocking on the pad...its super easy to get sleeves straight (and the same length!)
