Thing A Month - January BFF
Neuroknitter and I are embarking on a year-long yarn adventure that we are calling "Thing A Month" (the title is sort of a strange homage to Jonathan Coulton's Thing A Week project, but other than that neither one has anything to do with the other). Our objective is to try out a few new things, maybe learn some new techniques, and, mostly, to have a lot of fun in the process!
January's project is the BFF scarf with a twist, so to speak. As you can see from the link, this scarf is meant to be a collaborative project - each person knits 1/2 of the scarf, twice, and then sends one of their halves to the other person. In the end, there are two scarves, one for each knitter, and partly made by each knitter. Neuro and I selected the yarn and colors together, but we wanted to make things a little more interesting and so are each designing our own pattern for our portion of the project.
Below is a (deliberately blurry) pic of my progress thusfar. I've got a lot of BFF knitting to do in the next 2 weeks, but so far we are off to an exciting start!
Inbetween, I'm knitting for a relocated South American friend now living in Upstate NY - imagine the shock! - and 4 co-worker babies that will be appearing in the coming weeks.
