Socks Underway!
Hello on this fried chicken Monday!
After spending the last couple of weeks absolutely obsessing over my Casapinka KAL shawls, I've finally finished the knitting portions and have moved on to other projects!!
The remaining two KALs, Just Beachy and Shawlography, require that I pay attention when working on them. Which is fine - but I can't always do that. I am enjoying each of them, however!
Thus, the Warm Winter Socks (first pair) for Oogyhubby, started on the beach last month but now brought to the forefront for cold weather readiness:
This pattern requires attention only every 4 rows, when the fake cable crossovers happen. As always, the sock looks sooooo small, so I had Oogyhubby try it on last evening and also test it for "scratchiness". The sizing is good and it doesn't seem to be itchy for him - so full steam ahead!!
We've had some unusually foggy weather here lately, but often the days brighten up and the sun comes out in the afternoon. The temps have been just lovely as well! I wish this time of year lasted longer, with the lovely rustling of leaves, the angle of the light, and the dark evenings (so when I go to bed at my early hours the sun isn't still up, LOL!).
In other news - evidently we have quite the vibrant snake population here - which makes sense given the woods and field, the cats can't possibly catch all the mice! Oogyhubby keeps coming across them in his travels and yard work - most recently there were a bunch (probably very warm, dry, and happy) under a large sheet of plastic he was using to try to kill some tree stumps. Not too happy when the plastic was lifted on a cool and cloudy day!
I hope you're safe and well! Be sure to get your flu shot too - different virus but similar health risk!
