Our New Trampoline

Hello on this meatloaf Tuesday!  (the food, not the dude!)

While our recent windstorm wasn't as awful here as it was in other parts of the country, the next morning we found this alongside our driveway:

The debris path extended across our driveway as well - poles, springs, you name it.  Although we initially thought it may have come from one of the backyards behind the line of trees there, my crack accident reconstruction skills led us to conclude that it must have come from across and down the street instead - a much greater distance for it to travel, and not much other evidence prior to the scene surrounding that part of the driveway!  It must have gone airborne for some time - that could have been super cool but also really destructive and dangerous, but all else seems fine.

Last evening, Oogyhubby knocked on a couple of doors across the street - and found the family whose trampoline had "completely disappeared" during the storm!  This is one way to get to know the neighbors - evidently they also have a cute little puppy (chocolate lab) and he cuts down trees for a living (the guy, not the puppy, LOL).  And we have a lot of trees!  Also he has tools to help dismantle this thing because it's large and twisted and a real mess.  Excavation begins tomorrow.

In other news - Daisy zips up and down the stairs pretty much whenever she feels like it now, and yesterday afternoon she snoozed happily on the futon while I worked (no need to relocate to the dining room table like I'd been doing!).  She almost barked at me as I was returning from grocery shopping and she was on her morning walk; other than a few yawn-squeaks, she hasn't made any noises at all!

Last evening I actually blocked a previously-knitted Casapinka shawl - more to come on that next time!

Stay safe and well (and beware of flying trampolines?).

We can't overestimate the power of wind. I'm glad it didn't get close to the house!
