Release the Kraken!!

Or, in this case, the pent-up knitting projects that have been on hold since the start of the GMS test knitting several weeks ago.  Starting with this:

This is the first of the two pillows I'm making for my future niece-in-law, whose bridal shower was back in June.  As usual it's a terrible picture but you can at least get a sense of the lovely yet subtle variegations in the darker yarn.  The lighter color is a lovely, slightly purpley gray.  With worsted weight yarn the rows seem to whizz right on by!  There will be a second pillow to follow in different colors - stay tuned!

Since these pillows require the use of a chart, I'm also working on socks (yoga socks for now, at least until I remember how to do an afterthought heel again, it's been so long, LOL).

In other news - today is not a Taco Tuesday, although we did have tacos for dinner last night!  The farmer arrived yesterday and gave the field a mohawk - evidently parts of it are still too squishy for tractors after all the rain we've had this summer.  He told us he plans to bale later this week.  The whisking machine is on standby out there now so I imagine that will happen at some point today too.  I'm sure the deer were rather mystified by it all, but the birds are having a - well, a field day.
